Waii_Studio is a creative studio based in Bali, founded by illustrator, product designer, and creative director Wai Santy.

 

After years of working across creative industries—from Walt Disney Consumer Products to one of Indonesia’s leading animation studios—Wai started the studio to create work that feels more personal and meaningful.

 

Inspired by everyday life, and the small things people do, Waii Studio creates original characters, illustrations, handmade toys, and objects that tell simple stories with a touch of humour.

 

Meet Ichigo, a cheeky, lazy strawberry no bigger than the palm of your hand, who prefers daydreaming over getting things done. Or Dooyoong Jelita, a deadpan and slightly judgmental mermaid who spends her days doing yoga on a beautiful island while quietly observing everyone around her. Every character starts from something familiar—a personality, a habit, or a moment that makes us smile.

 

Wai believes that handmade objects carry a warmth that can’t be replicated. Every ceramic piece, resin toy, and artwork is created and painted by her hands, embracing the beauty of craftsmanship and the little imperfections that make each piece unique.

 

Through Waii_Studio, she hopes to create characters and objects that bring a little joy, spark curiosity, and remind us to slow down and notice the beauty in ordinary moments.
